E-Commerce Development

A custom online store covering product catalog, cart, checkout, and payments, designed around conversion first, on a platform sized to fit your catalog and growth plans. Product data is marked up properly, so when a shopper asks an AI assistant to compare options in your category, your items are readable rather than invisible.

E-Commerce questions we get asked

Shopify or a custom build?

Shopify, for most stores, and we'll tell you so rather than talk you into something bigger. It handles payments, tax, fraud, and PCI compliance well enough that rebuilding those is rarely a good use of your budget. A custom build earns its place when the catalog or the business logic doesn't fit the platform's assumptions, when you need deep integration with systems you already run, or when platform fees at your volume have grown past what a build would cost. The storefront is custom-designed either way.

Can you migrate my existing store without losing rankings?

Yes, and product URLs are where migrations usually go wrong, because platforms each impose their own URL structure and a few hundred product pages can quietly 404 overnight. Every existing URL gets mapped and redirected, product data and reviews are carried across rather than re-entered, and we crawl before and after to catch what got missed. Reviews are worth particular attention: they're often the hardest thing to move and the most expensive to lose.

How do you handle payments and PCI compliance?

Card details are handled by the payment provider and never touch your server, which is both the secure approach and the one that keeps your compliance burden small. Stripe, Shopify Payments, and the other major gateways are all supported, and we'll usually recommend based on your rates and payout timing rather than on preference. Checkout is tested against real transactions before go-live, not after.

Will my products show up in Google Shopping and AI shopping assistants?

That's what the product schema is for. Every product page is marked up with price, availability, specifications, and review data in a structured format, which is what Google Merchant Center reads and what an assistant needs in order to compare your item against alternatives. Without it, a shopper asking an AI to compare options in your category gets your competitors. It doesn't guarantee placement, but it's the difference between being legible and being invisible.

How many products can the store handle?

Catalog size is one of the first things we scope, because it changes the platform choice and the architecture more than almost anything else. A few dozen products and a few thousand are genuinely different builds: the second needs real thought about filtering, search, and how category pages get generated, or browsing it becomes unusable. Tell us the number you expect in two years, not the number you have today.
