Tiarah Designs

An online store for sarees and Indian ethnic wear, built to the client's own design and kept deliberately simple: the clothes first, and very little in their way.

01The problem

What wasn't working

Tiarah came to us with a clear picture of the shop they wanted and one instruction: keep it simple. Ethnic wear is bought on the drape, the weave and the colour, and the photography carries almost all of that, so the risk with a store like this is a site that keeps interrupting the pictures with banners, pop-ups and menus three levels deep. The brief was the opposite: a calm storefront in the brand's own gold and cream, where a shopper can see a saree, see its price and buy it.

02The build

What we built

A small online store built to Tiarah's design. The header holds three links, Home, Catalog and Contact, with search, account and cart on the right and the logo in the middle. The fold is one full-width photograph with a single line, Timeless Elegance Awaits, and one button. Below it a Trending now band pairs two editorial pictures with a sentence each, and a Featured Collections carousel shows each piece with its name and its price in Australian dollars, with sold-out pieces marked rather than hidden. That is the whole homepage, on purpose.
